Problem:
The front room contained a large (broken)
table and chairs, a computer station at
a small café table, and other random
furnishings. It needed to be downsized,
made inviting and pulled together.
Solution: We
curbed the broken table and chairs, and
moved all the computer equipment upstairs
into one of the children’s rooms.
We moved the small table from the kitchen
in, salvaged two chairs from the basement,
and bought two more at a house sale. We
also purchased from the sale an easy chair,
artwork, accessories, some vintage floral
material and some foot stools for added
seating. The final touch was turning the
buffet into a bar.
Problem:
The kitchen felt
sparse and was rarely used, and the washer
and dryer were the focus. Along the main
wall, there was only a small table and two
chairs for a family of four. It needed to
be transformed into a communal and welcoming
space.
Solution:
Move the washer and dryer to the basement
to reclaim precious space and cut down on
noise pollution. We purchased a large oak
table with six chairs, which set the stage
for the family to share meals and laughs.
New window treatments added more privacy,
and a signature wall filled with black and
white family photographs made it really
feel like home.
“Hey Jess, THANK YOU so much!!!!!!!!
I really love my "new place,"
it looks awesome! I cannot believe what
a difference already! The kids and I had
dinner last night and it was so cozy! Thank
you again.”
