Problem:
This residence had an unfortunate kitchen
fire that polluted the contents of the entire
house. Every rug, pillow, piece of bedding,
etc. had to be dry cleaned or thrown away,
and everything else had to be manually washed.
This was a major undertaking since Johanna
is a huge collector.
Solution:
Reclaiming the living room was
our initial goal. This large space had been
overrun with objects from other areas, and
items coming back from the cleaners. Finding
a home for all of these things was the first
step. Then we rearranged the furnishings –
some were switched with pieces from other
rooms – to create a comfortable and
attractive space. We have since consulted
on paint colors, and that will be the next
step for this home.
