Residential Projects:

Maria DeMitchell Wechsler

Problem: Maria's space was not fully her own. Furniture and odd pieces were blocking the chi of large hard-shaped rooms that needed purpose and attention.

Solution:
We started in the soon-to-be dining room. With pool table gone, we purchased an antique dining table that could accommodate Maria's future gatherings and dinner parties. A new light fixture will be installed over the table.

She found fabulous wallpaper at deep discount in three colors: blue, wine and tan, and we ripped and collaged two of the main walls in the room using all three colors. The effect is very rich! Another room nook will be the host-station buffet, of the same era as some of the other beautiful furniture pieces Maria owns.

Next stop is the living room. We scored a wonderful Asian-inspired faux bamboo couch with cushions Maria will reupholster in a gorgeous Waverly fabric. A sharp upright brown chair will come down from upstairs, as will a leopard skin chair for her office nook. An existing pink chair will play fine, and hot pink will be picked up on the cushion cord on the couch, and a bamboo ottoman will further add to the theme.

After that, the kitchen will be painted to compliment the warm natural floor tiles and the counter tops. The lighting fixture will be switched out and something fun will happen on the ceiling.
